The Bruins increased their lead in the Eastern Conference to three points with a 4-2 win over the Oilers on Thursday night, and the difference in the game was the stellar performance of backup goalie Chad Johnson.
Boston came into the contest allowing just 28.9 shots per game, but it gave up 41 to the highly skilled Oilers. Even though he was forced to stop a lot of shots and three Edmonton power plays, Johnson stood tall in net and allowed just two goals.
The 27-year-old netminder made a career-high 39 saves and has now won five consecutive games.
Check out what he had to say about Thursday’s win in the video above.
