This isn’t exactly how they draw it up in Lob City.

Clippers forward DeAndre Jordan is known for his ability to finish at the rim — he entered Wednesday night’s game in Boston with the highest field goal percentage in the NBA — but he wasn’t able to convert one alley-oop attempt late in the first quarter against the Celtics.

With Los Angeles trailing by three points early, Chris Paul drove toward the hoop and lobbed up a pass to Jordan. The big man was unable to hold up his end of the bargain, though. Jordan misjudged his slam, throwing down a slightly off-target dunk that resulted in the ball getting lodged between the rim and the backboard.

Though Jordan may not have pulled off the highlight-reel dunk he desired, his team did get a win, coming back from a six-point halftime deficit to knock of the Celtics 96-88 in Doc Rivers‘ first game back at TD Garden.
