Tramon Williams, Dez BryantDallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant‘s emotions have gotten the best of him a few times this season, and Sunday was just another example of the receiver’s uncontrollable passion leading to immaturity.

Bryant played a major part in the Cowboys’ 36-point outburst on Sunday, catching 11 passes for 151 yards and one incredible touchdown grab. However, he couldn’t control himself late in the loss and didn’t even stick around to see the end of the game. The Pro Bowl receiver headed back to the locker room at AT&T Stadium while time was still left on the clock late in the fourth quarter, refusing to watch the Packers take a few knees to seal the win.

While Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett appreciated Bryant’s passion and could empathize with the wideout’s frustration, he didn’t view Bryant’s reaction as appropriate.

“We’ll address that with Dez [Monday],” Garrett said during an interview on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, via ESPN.com. “I understand why to a certain extent, they’re kneeling the ball, the game essentially is over, he’s an emotional guy, we’re all very emotional about what we do. But he needs to stay out on the field and I’ll address that with him [Monday]. And just explain why it’s important to do that and he’ll understand.”

Bryant was adamant Monday that his reaction had nothing to do with his teammates, and instead was related to his emotional reaction to the loss. That was only even a question because of Bryan’t sideline incidents with Tony Romo and Jason Witten during a similar loss to the Lions earlier this season. Garrett sees no such issue, though, even praising Bryant for his behavior as a teammate, but noting that the 24-year-old still has some growing up to do.

“He loves his teammates he loves this team, has a great passion for winning. You have to understand how to handle yourself in those situations. He’ll learn from this situation.”
