A few thousand Green Bay Packers fans must have turned off their TV’s too soon on Sunday and assumed their team’s season was over because Packer Nation is not gobbling up playoff tickets like they should be.
As of Monday night, the team had approximately 15,000 tickets remaining for its first-round game, according to a team spokesperson. The number dwindled only slightly by Tuesday morning, as 13,000 tickets were left, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The Packers are not the only team struggling to sell out for this weekend’s matchups, either. The Cincinnati Bengals have close to 10,000 tickets left unsold while the Indianapolis Colts still need to sell 7,000 of their own to avoid facing a television blackout.
In an effort to expedite the process, the team announced on Tuesday that it had lifted the limit of four tickets per transaction.
The team sent out playoff ticket invoices to season ticket holders in November. When Aaron Rodgers returned to the lineup on Sunday after missing seven games with a broken collarbone, and led his Packers to a comeback victory over the Chicago Bears, the team had 40,000 tickets available for the first-round game.
Lambeau Field added 7,000 seats behind the south end zone this season, increasing its capacity to 80,750 and making it the third largest stadium in the league.
