Johnny Football is not Johnny Basketball for a very good reason — he’s not so hot with a ball and a hoop.
Johnny Manziel is athletic, no doubt, but he won’t be taking his talents to any NBA teams in the near future. Before Manziel’s Aggies take on the Duke Blue Devils in the Chick-fil-A Bowl on New Year’s Eve, the Heisman Trophy winner participated in a skills challenge during halftime of a basketball game, and the results were nothing to write home about.
Manziel missed a finger-roll layup, but one aspect of his game on the gridiron did translate to the hardwood — his competitiveness. After the quarterback banked in his own rebound, he slammed the ball to the court in a moment of frustration.
Hey, in his defense, he’s got a great bank shot.
