Mike ShanahanAs if enough people weren’t laughing at the Redskins, Dan Snyder and Co. only made matters worse Monday.

Snyder called Mike Shanahan into Redskins Park on Monday morning to officially fire him as head coach. However, in typical Redskins fashion, what should have been nothing more than a simple Donald Trump goodbye quickly turned into a circus of sorts.

The team had lots of security measures in place at Redskins Park, leading to a major traffic jam for media members on their way into the facility. There also was plenty of the unusual, including windows taped closed with scotch tape and interns posing as security guards.

Check out the full play-by-play of the day’s unusual events from a few Redskins beat reporters:

Oh, and just for kicks and giggles, here’s a photo of Robert Griffin III all packed up and ready to leave Redskins Park. See ya next year, RG3.

Robert Griffin III

What a disaster. Good luck to Jay Gruden, Mike Zimmer or whoever ultimately is given responsibility of this circus act. They’re going to need it.
