Minnesota Wild Mascot Dons Green Man Suit for Game Against Vancouver, Taunts Canucks on Bench (Video)

The Minnesota Wild’s mascot, Nordy, gave the visiting Vancouver Canucks a taste of their own medicine Tuesday night.

The so-called Green Men, the Canucks’ spandex-clad unofficial mascots, have been agitating opposing players in the Rogers Arena penalty box for years. So, when it was the Wild’s turn to host Vancouver this week, Nordy ditched his usual — rather frightening — costume for a green man suit of his own.

The mascot did his part to psyche out the Canucks, imitating the gyrating moves of his Vancouver counterparts along the glass next to the visiting bench.

John Tortorella‘s squad didn’t appear to be paying him any mind, but Nordy’s uncomfortable dancing may have changed the Wild’s luck. Vancouver failed to score the rest of the game, and Jason Pominville netted the lone shootout goal to give the home team a 3-2 win.

Check out the mascot’s moves in the video below.
