Former cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha is calling it quits on Friday.
The 11-year veteran will announce his retirement in Oakland, the Raiders reported Thursday evening. He leaves the game with 407 tackles, 15 interceptions and two sacks in 157 career games.
The 32-year-old played three games as a member of the 49ers before being waived in November this season. His best days came during his first eight seasons in Oakland after getting drafted 31st overall by the team in 2003.
In July of 2011, the former California Golden Bear signed a five-year, $60 million contract — $25 million guaranteed — with the Eagles but was released after just two seasons, where he had 95 tackles and four picks in 32 games.
