A pane of glass on the end boards broke during the third period of Tuesday’s Red Wings-Panthers game in Florida, which turned out to be much more of a problem than it should have been.

Usually when this situation occurs, the arena crew will install a new section of glass, which results in a short delay in the game. But after the arena crew put up the new pane off glass, the protective covering wouldn’t come off, and they had no choice but to leave it up.

Aside from its weird look, the brown covering also caused problems for the fans who went to the game thinking they had awesome front-row seats and then had their view of the ice obstructed for the final eight minutes of the third period.

Check it out in the photos below.
