It appears the beard will not be growing stripes after all.
After a rumor that reliever Brian Wilson was engaging in “serious negotiations” with the Detroit Tigers, it is now being reported that Wilson is likely to stay put.
Wilson signed with the Dodgers as a free agent in July, and Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports reported Tuesday that the two sides are nearing a deal to bring him back to Los Angeles for a second season.

Though he did not make his season debut until early August, Wilson performed well in his first year in Dodger blue. The former Giants closer appeared in 18 games as a setup man for Kenley Jansen, posting a 0.66 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in 13 2/3 innings. He also worked six scoreless innings in the playoffs, allowing four hits while walking two and striking out eight.
