Wes Welker, Jimmy SmithPeyton Manning will be without one of his best wide receivers on Sunday when the Denver Broncos take on the Houston Texans at Reliant Stadium.

According to FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer, Wes Welker will not play in Houston. The 32-year-old receiver suffered a concussion on Dec. 8 during a 51-28 victory over the Tennessee Titans and missed last week’s 27-20 defeat to the San Diego Chargers.

Denver has already clinched a spot in the AFC playoffs, so there’s no need to rush Welker back to the field when he’s going to be an important part of the team’s pursuit of a Super Bowl title.

Welker has tallied 73 receptions for 783 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.
