There’s no shortage of closing experience in the Dodgers’ bullpen.
The Dodgers have agreed to a one-year deal with former Indians closer Chris Perez, according to FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal. The deal reportedly is pending a physical, which Perez will take Monday.
Perez recorded 25 saves for the Tribe in 2013, although he was terrible for much of the second half, leaving the Indians without a clear-cut closer down the stretch. The 28-year-old picked up a career-high 39 saves in 2012 and nailed down 36 games in 2011, earning an All-Star selection in both years.
Perez, who was released a few weeks ago, has often made headlines for the wrong reasons. He was placed on probation earlier this year following an arrest stemming from an incident in which him and his girlfriend had marijuana shipped to their house under their dog’s name.
Perez joins a Dodgers bullpen that also includes former closers Brian Wilson and Brandon League and incumbent closer Kenley Jansen.
