Deion BranchAndrew Luck has found out this year what it’s like to try to run an offense without tested receivers. The Colts are now looking to remedy that.

Indianapolis invited former Patriots receiver Deion Branch in for a tryout on Tuesday, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. The Colts have been struggling since wide receiver Reggie Wayne was lost for the season with a knee injury in Week 7, going 3-3 since that Oct. 20 win over the Broncos (beating the Titans twice and the Texans once).

Branch was a capable sub for the Patriots last year when the team reached out to him for some veteran help. He played in 10 games, starting four, and compiled 145 yards on 16 receptions. Over his career, he has 518 receptions for 6,644 yards and 39 touchdowns. While his legs may not make him much of a receiving threat outside of situational matchups anymore, his leadership and game knowledge could be valuable in bolstering an Indianapolis offense in need of a jolt.
