Lamar OdomIf Lamar Odom put in the work, a couple of NBA teams indicated they’d be interested in having him back. Odom has now put in the work.

Odom has spent the last two weeks taking part in “strenuous workouts” and is looking to play professionally again, although “he’s not ready yet,” according to Ken Berger of CBSSports.com. Odom drew interest from both the Lakers and the Clippers in the past couple of months, but both teams, whom he has played for before, wanted to be sure his off-court life was cleaned up before offering him a contract.

The Clippers went so far as to meet with Odom in November, Berger reports.

Odom has averaged 13.3 points and 8.4 rebounds over his NBA career and was named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year in 2011. He was part of the Lakers’ 2009 and 2010 championship runs, but his production slipped over the last few years, including last season, which was marred by personal struggles.
