Patriots fans’ fears have been confirmed.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that a Monday morning MRI on Rob Gronkowski’s knee, injured in Sunday’s win over the Browns, has revealed an ACL and MCL tear. That means the tight end is done for the rest of the season and could miss a portion of next year as well, with ACL tears usually taking about a year of recovery time.

Gronkowski played just seven games this season after offseason troubles with his back and forearm. He had accumulated 592 yards and four touchdowns since his return, with Tom Brady and the Patriots’ offense improving considerably with him back on the field.
