Forget Rudolph’s navigational skills, the red-nosed reindeer is deemed the most famous one of all for his prowess at the plate.

The fine folks at Baseball-Reference.com are getting into the Christmas spirit this year, giving everyone’s favorite reindeer his very own player page on the website. Nicknamed Mr. December, the switch-hitting shortstop will be the face of the North Pole Reindeer for the foreseeable future after inking an eight-year, $114 million contract.

Rudolph earned his paycheck, too, after setting career highs in home runs (12), RBIs (79) and batting average (.312) in the Holiday League this past season.

Santa may have some competition for his most-prized reindeer this offseason, because if the 5-foot-3, 275-pound Rudolph keeps producing at this level, the Yankees may just come knocking on his door.

Check out Rudolph’s player card below and head over to Baseball-Reference.com for all of his impressive numbers.
