Russell Wilson Pass Goes Off Kellen Davis’s Hands, Into Arms of Derrick Coleman for Lucky Seahawks Score (GIF)

The Seattle Seahawks did a lot to win Monday night’s game against the Saints. But their last touchdown, which made the final score 34-7, was all luck and gravy.

As Seattle looked to score again in the third quarter, the Seahawks faced a 2nd-and-8. Russell Wilson ran to his right and threw a wobbler, and tight end Kellen Davis had trouble reeling it in, with the ball bouncing off his fingers. It was primed to be a drop, or at least the type of tipped ball that has set many another quarterback up for an ill-fated interception.

But the Seahawks got the home-field bounce, with the ball instead falling right into the arms of running back Derrick Coleman. He was near the pylon and deftly moved the ball into the end zone for the most improbable of scores, and his first career touchdown.
