The Steelers were within inches of pulling off a miraculous victory over the Dolphins on Sunday, but for the second time in two weeks, the sideline proved to be troublesome for Pittsburgh.

In a day full of wild endings in the NFL, Pittsburgh may have attempted the craziest of them all. On the final play of the game, the Steelers took the field trailing Miami 34-28 and needing to travel 79 yards for a touchdown as time was winding down at Heinz Field.

It wasn’t an easy task, and the Steelers certainly didn’t make it look easy, attempting a series of laterals that seemed to be getting them nowhere until Ben Roethlisberger finally connected with Antonio Brown. Brown took his signal caller’s diving toss all the way down the field for what looked to be the game-winning touchdown, but the Steelers’ jubilation was short-lived.

After the play was reviewed, it was ruled that Brown had stepped out of bounds at the Miami 12-yard line. There may have been no miracle at Heinz on Sunday, but on the bright side, Mike Tomlin won’t have to fork over any more dough for this particular sideline mishap.

Check out the almost-spectacular ending in the GIFs below, with a fist bump to @gifdsports.
