Before the Red Sox snapped their 86-year World Series drought in 2004, Boston fans’ most endearing Fall Classic memory was of Carlton Fisk waving the game-winning home run fair in Game 6 of the 1975 Series.
Thirty-eight years later, after the Sox had taken home two World Series titles, Fisk returned to Fenway Park for another Game 6. The Hall of Famer, along with fellow Red Sox legend Luis Tiant, threw out the first pitch for what ended up being the final game of the 2013 World Series. The Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 6-1 to claim their third championship in 10 years.
Fisk turned 66 on Thursday, making it only appropriate to look back at both of his memorable Game 6 moments. Check them out in the videos below.
