Wes Welker Suffers Second Concussion of Season, Forced to Leave Game Early Against Titans

Wes Welker, Bernard PollardDenver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker suffered a concussion during Sunday’s game against the Titans.

During the second period, Welker took a hard hit to the head from Tennessee safety Bernard Pollard as the wide receiver tried to pull in a low catch. Welker walked off the field under his own power but was ruled out for the second half of the game after the team confirmed at halftime that he had sustained a concussion.

It is the second concussion Welker has suffered this season, with the first one coming in Week 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Welker did not miss any time after that injury, returning the next week to take on the Patriots, but with the Broncos slated to play on Thursday night, it is unlikely that Welker will be cleared to play in Week 15 because of the short turnaround.

Before leaving the game, Welker recorded five receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown.
