Aaron Rodgers is a quarterback by day, but he may very well moonlight as a magician.

With the Packers trailing by three points early in the fourth quarter on Sunday, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy put the ball in his quarterback’s hands on a crucial fourth down. And Rodgers repaid his coach’s confidence.

On fourth-and-2 from inside the 49ers’ 35-yard line, Rodgers dropped back in the pocket looking to convert. The Niners brought plenty of pressure up the gut, though, and managed to bottle the quarterback up in the backfield. But then, just as he seemed destined to be dropped for a big sack, Rodgers miraculously found his way out of the big pile-up and found Randall Cobb down the sideline for a 25-yard conversion and to keep the drive alive.

The unbelievable escape isn’t the first time Rodgers has shown such slippery moves this season, or even during Sunday’s game for that matter. In fact, while Rodgers is a prototypical pocket passer, he is sneaky athletic and showed off his elusiveness more than once against a tough San Francisco defense.
