Austin Collie Says He Can Give Patriots Insight on Colts Players’ Tendencies, Not Defensive Scheme

Tom Brady, Austin CollieFOXBORO, Mass. — Whatever organizational secrets newly signed Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Deion Branch can give his current squad about the New England Patriots, wideout Austin Collie can do for his new team, too.

Collie re-signed with the Patriots last week. The fifth-year receiver spent four seasons with the Colts from 2009 to 2012. He was placed on injured reserve just three games into last season, however.

“I mean, I can give my two cents about different tendencies for different players, but as far as scheme-wise, when they came with the new defense, I wasn’t there that long, because I got put on the IR that third week,” Collie said Wednesday. “So, I didn’t get to see a lot of what they did. So, from that standpoint, no. From scheme, probably not.”

Branch spent last season with the Patriots, though neither receiver can probably do much for his new team. So much can change in the course of a year that Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said misinformation can spread if teams try to gather too much about a player’s former team.
