Recent Skittles appearances: candy stores, end zones and sausage casings?

One of the sausages on the menu at Blue Max Meats in Puyallup, Wash., is not like the others. Inspired by Seattle Seahawks running back, Marshawn Lynch, the “Beast Mode” sausage contains one special ingredient. You guessed right, it’s made with Skittles.

This meat and candy mixture might be one of the weirdest combinations to date. Some football fans who can stomach the replay of a broken bone or grueling hit on the field must be left wondering if even they would be brave enough to try this new creation.

Coming from a butcher that already provides 20 different varieties of sausage, co-owner Harry Marshall told King 5 News that the “Beast Mode” is their most popular sausage right now. It appears that Seahawks fans aren’t knocking it ’till they try it in support of Lynch and his well-known love of Skittles.

One patron, Dana Miller, ordered 12 “Beast Mode” sausages for her trip to the Super Bowl, calling them “Marshawn-licious.”

With the help of an innovative and risky deli shop, it is now inevitable that Skittles will be thrown come Super Bowl Sunday. If not onto the end zone, then certainly into some meat.
