Berkshire Bank Faceoff: Zach Trotman Back In Bruins’ Lineup As B’s Host Kings

Claude JulienBOSTON — Things are a little bit different this time around for Zach Trotman.

The defenseman will play his second career NHL game Monday afternoon for the Boston Bruins as they host the Los Angeles Kings in matinee hockey at TD Garden.

Trotman made his NHL debut Dec. 28 when the Bruins were suddenly shorthanded on the blue line in Ottawa because of injuries to Dennis Seidenberg and Zdeno Chara. Trotman was recalled on an emergency basis and played nearly 17 minutes after arriving midway through warmups.

He’s back in the fold this time in place of defenseman Adam McQuaid, who is suffering from some sort of leg injury, Bruins coach Claude Julien revealed Monday afternoon. Trotman was a healthy scratch for Providence on Sunday and was recalled after Boston’s shootout loss in Chicago. So, to say this showing with the big club is a little less hectic would be a dramatic understatement.

Here are the rest of the projected lines and defensive pairings for Monday afternoon’s Bruins-Kings game.

Milan Lucic — David Krejci — Jarome Iginla
Brad Marchand — Patrice Bergeron — Reilly Smith
Carl Soderberg — Ryan Spooner — Loui Eriksson
Daniel Paille — Gregory Campbell — Shawn Thornton

Zdeno Chara — Torey Krug

Zach Trotman — Matt Bartkowski

Kings (29-14-6, 64 points)

Dustin Brown — Anze Kopitar — Jeff Carter
Matt Fratin — Mike Richards — Justin Williams
Dwight King — Jarret Stoll — Trevor Lewis
Kyle Clifford — Colin Fraser — Jordan Nolan
