Grzelcyk suffered a separated shoulder during practice in the week before the team’s Frozen Fenway matchup against Maine on Jan. 11, according to BU coach David Quinn. He was hurt when he hit the boards.

Grzelcyk was drafted in the third round (85th overall) by the Bruins in the 2012 NHL draft. The Charlestown, Mass., native has tallied 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 19 games for the Terriers this season.

The 20-year-old defenseman was also one of Team USA’s best players at the 2014 World Junior Championships in Sweden, where the Americans finished in fifth place.
