Courtney Lee did not speak with reporters, nor would the Celtics confirm Sunday that the veteran guard had been traded to the Memphis Grizzlies.

As far as unofficial confirmation goes, however, this is pretty strong.

Lee took to social media to thank the Celtics, Boston fans and even the team’s photographers for their support during his 1 1/2 seasons wearing the green and white. The consummate professional acknowledged his rocky start in Boston, although his fortunes did improve in the first half of season two. Now, Lee gets a new start in Memphis.

In case Lee’s message does not appear correctly with the Instagram photo at bottom, the full text is below.

“Would like to thank every1 in the celtics organization for the opportunity to be a celtic, I enjoyed my time in Boston and am grateful. Would also like to thank @celtics for showcasing my desire to give back to the community and also making me look good in the pictures lol. Would also like to thank the fans for the amazing year and a half journey, we started off a little rocky but I got my game back right so thanks for the extra motivation. #allgoodthingscometoaend!!!”
