The human interest side of sports is often more interesting than the X’s and O’s, and Seattle Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman‘s story has captured a lot of hearts over the last week.

Coleman, who is the first legally deaf NFL player, was recently featured in a Duracell ad highlighting how he’s overcome the adversity of being deaf and playing sports. Coleman’s story is inspirational on its own, but it particularly touched one young sports fan who is also deaf. The young girl’s father posted a note on Twitter that his daughter had written to Coleman, sending the fullback some good vibes before he plays in the biggest game of his life.
