Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill had a huge presence at the Waste Management Phoenix Open Annexus Pro-Am on Wednesday.

In fact, his face was everywhere as teammates Charles Brewer, Eric Chavez, Josh Collmenter and Patrick Corbin followed Hill around the course with giant Fathead posters of his head. Their massive show of support is typically reserved as a distraction technique at college basketball games, but the giant heads’ first time on the green was wildly successful.

“He looked around and just lost it,” Collmenter said when Hill first noticed the Fathead foursome. “He bent over laughing.”

Hill’s playing partner, second-year PGA Tour pro Billy Horschel, even got in on the bit, posing with Hill’s face and drawing a mustache to go along with a nose ring on one of them. The D-Backs certainly went big with this one, but it wasn’t their plan all along.

“We were thinking about bringing signs,” said Collmenter, who came up with the idea. “We were just going to make a big sign that said, ‘King of the Hill’, or maybe a quote from ‘Happy Gilmore’ or something. And then we threw around the idea of the big heads. I was looking into getting them, and the D-Backs said, ‘Oh, we can have somebody make them’, so they made them and got them for us. I didn’t realize they were going to be as enormous as they are.”
