Kyle Wellwood; Dougie HamiltonWILMINGTON, Mass. — The Boston Bruins’ injury woes are not quite a thing of the past, as evidenced Monday morning at practice.

Defenseman Dougie Hamilton was not on the Ristuccia Arena ice as the B’s held their first practice since returning from a three-game West Coast road trip. That’s about all the information that was available, though.

Bruins coach Claude Julien declined to offer much about Hamilton’s apparent ailment, just saying there would be an update before Tuesday’s game against Toronto.

“He’s being looked at right now,” Julien said after practice. “We’ll leave it at that. We’ll give you more [Tuesday].”

Hamilton already has missed time this season with what was originally labeled a lower-body injury. The most recent episode of Behind the B on NESN revealed that Hamilton had suffered a Grade 1 MCL sprain. Julien wouldn’t confirm or deny that Hamilton had aggravated that injury, which he suffered Dec. 8 against Toronto.

Hamilton returned to the Bruins’ lineup Jan. 2 against Nashville. He’s played in five games since, registering a goal and two assists.
