Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine Previously Starred in Hall of Fame-Worthy Nike Commercial (Video)

Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine were voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on Wednesday in their first year of eligibility. Their talent on the mound was undeniable, but their skill in front of the camera wasn’t too shabby, either.

The longtime Atlanta Braves teammates starred in a legendary Nike commercial in the late 1990s, during which they focused on hitting in an effort to achieve the level of stardom that slugger Mark McGwire enjoyed at the time. Because, as everyone knows, chicks dig the long ball.

It’s a pretty great ad, and it carries a little extra significance now that Glavine and Maddux are Hall of Famers, while McGwire’s steroid use likely will bar him from Cooperstown forever.
