WATERTOWN, Mass. — Jerry Remy informed the media Monday that he will be in the booth for his 27th season as a Boston Red Sox analyst for NESN.
Remy will be part of NESN’s coverage of Red Sox spring training, which begins next month in Fort Myers, Fla., and the 2014 season, which opens March 31 at Baltimore.

“We look forward to having Jerry back in the booth for the 2014 season,” NESN president and CEO Sean McGrail said. “It was a difficult personal decision for Jerry to make and all of us at NESN and the Red Sox are completely supportive of his return to our broadcast.”
Remy, a Somerset, Mass., native joined NESN in 1988 and was inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2006. He played second base in the major leagues for 10 years, three with the California Angels and seven with the Red Sox, until a knee injury forced his retirement in 1986.
Remy finished his playing career with a .275 batting average, 1,226 hits, 329 RBIs, 208 stolen bases and a .981 fielding percentage. He made the American League All-Star team in 1978, his first season with the Red Sox.
