Jonathan Quick Unveils Kings-Inspired Olympic Goalie Mask (Video)

Even when Jonathan Quick dons the red, white and blue of Team USA in the 2014 Winter Olympics, he’ll still be repping the Los Angeles Kings.

Quick, one of three goaltenders named to the U.S. Olympic squad, revealed Wednesday the mask he will be debuting in Sochi, and it bears a strong resemblance to the headgear he wears nightly with the Kings. The UMass product’s crown design remains intact, but instead of the usual silver and black, it’s now accented with red, blue and gold and includes the Team USA shield on the chin.

It’s a far cry from the overwhelmingly patriotic mask Quick wore during the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, when he was the third-stringer behind Ryan Miller and Tim Thomas, and is also a bit more understated than the new Olympic design Miller unveiled earlier this week.
