Justin Florek‘s latest stint in the American Hockey League didn’t last long.
The Boston Bruins announced Monday that they have recalled the 6-foot-4 winger one day after sending him to Providence.
Florek made his NHL debut Saturday afternoon, logging 10:14 of ice timeĀ in place of Jordan Caron inĀ Boston’s 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets. He will travel with the team on its upcoming West Coast swing, which includes games against the Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks.
āHe played well,ā head coach Claude Julien said after Saturday’s game. āHeās a good skater, heās got good size and obviously on one of [Torey] Krugās goals, it was him doing the job in front of the goaltender there. I thought he had a real good game for us.ā
Florek has recorded nine goals and 13 assists in 35 games for the P-Bruins this season, including two helpers in Sunday’s 8-2 win over the Worcester Sharks.
