All eyes were on the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night as the Seahawks punched their ticket to the Super Bowl with a 23-17 win. After the game, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman went on a rant for the ages during an interview with Erin Andrews, sending Twitter into an uproar.

Some on the social media site praised Sherman for his passion for the game, while others derided the cornerback as classless. Detroit Tigers ace Justin Verlander fell in the latter category, praising Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, and, in the same breath, giving fans an idea of what would happen to Sherman if he played baseball.

Based on Sherman’s fightin’ words, he’d most likely be charging the mound after that one.
