The NHL’s first foray into warm-weather climates will have a distinct SoCal feel.

The Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks are slated to play an outdoor game at Dodger Stadium on Jan. 25, and an artist rendering released earlier this week revealed that the event — part of the NHL’s Stadium Series — will feature much more than just ice hockey.

The main rink will be joined by a stage in right field, where KISS, among others, will perform. A street hockey court near home plate and a sprawling beach volleyball area in left also will flank the ice surface, meaning organizers are expecting conditions that will accommodate both ice hockey and beach volleyball.

To drum up anticipation for their outdoor matchup, the Kings hosted “Dodger Pride Night” on Monday. The team wore Dodgers-themed uniforms during warmups, and reliever Brian Wilson and recently retired utility man Jerry Hairston Jr. were on hand for the ceremonial puck drop.
