Boston mayor Marty Walsh hasn’t been in office for long, but he’s already had to endure the ultimate New England embarrassment: rocking a Denver Broncos jersey.
Walsh was on the losing end of a friendly wager he made with Denver mayor Michael Hancock about the outcome of the AFC Championship Game between the New England Patriots and the Broncos. The Patriots fell 26-16, and as part of the terms, Walsh was forced to sport the blue and orange jersey.
In addition to wearing Peyton Manning’s threads Monday, Walsh also sent 5 pounds of chocolate turtles from Phillips Candy House in Dorchester to Hancock and also donated a number of books to Denver Public Libraries.
