Oklahoma Football Team Collapses ESPN Stage During Sugar Bowl Celebration (GIF)

Oklahoma’s stunning Sugar Bowl upset of Alabama was too much even forĀ ESPN.

After the Sooners returned an AJ McCarron fumble for a touchdown to seal the 45-31 win Thursday night, head coach Bob Stoops, redshirt freshman quarterback Trevor Knight — who tossed four touchdown passes in his first start of the season — and a host of other OU players hopped on stage to join the ESPN postgame crew.

The stage apparently wasn’t built to withstand the weight of a few dozen fully padded men, however, as it buckled and collapsed midway through the interview.

Luckily, nobody was hurt, and the little mishap did nothing to dampen the celebration of Oklahoma’s first BCS bowl win since 2010.
