Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett knew their first trip to the TD Garden as members of the Brooklyn Nets would be special and emotional. Boston Celtics fans did not disappoint them.
Booming cheers rained down Sunday night as the Nets ran out of the tunnel amid a sea of high-fives and camera flashes. The applause reached a whole new level once the starting lineups were announced, however. After impatiently waiting for the first three Nets starters to jog out onto the court, the crowd erupted when Pierce and Garnett’s names were finally announced.
