Peyton Manning and Bill Belichick aren’t exactly buddy-buddy, but there is an undeniable mutual respect between the two.
While Belichick and the New England Patriots gear up to travel to Denver for Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the Broncos, Manning was busy praising his archrival Wednesday.
When asked about Belichick and his legacy, Manning honored the Patriots coach with some pretty lofty compliments.
“Coach Belichick is the best coach that I have ever competed against, and I think it’s safe to say that he will go down as the greatest NFL coach of all time,” Manning said, per The Denver Post.
Belichick is big on praising his opponents in the week leading up to a game. This time, it’s Manning killing the coach with kindness, although, come Sunday, he’ll have to focus on beating the “greatest coach of all time” on the field — something he’s done just six times in 17 chances since 2000.
