Nashville Predators winger Eric Nystrom isn’t known for his goal scoring, but he provided all of his team’s offense in Friday night’s game against the Calgary Flames with a career-high four goals.

The veteran forward scored twice in the third period to give the Predators a 4-2 advantage, but the Flames tied the score to force overtime and won the game 5-4 after a shootout. In a surprising move, Nashville head coach Barry Trotz decided not to use Nystrom in the shootout.

Nystrom entered the game with just seven goals in 49 games, and the Predators will hope his scoring touch continues because they rank 24th in goals scored and need more offensive production from their bottom-six forwards to earn a playoff spot.
