Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens said Monday night that Rajon Rondo will return to the court “sooner rather than later,” and, if we’re picking up the point guard’s hints, Friday could be the day.

Rondo tweeted a set of numbers on his Twitter account after Monday night’s loss to the Houston Rockets.

The math wizards over at CBSSports.com broke the number down: 29,233,380 seconds = 338 days, eight hours and 23 minutes. Rondo had surgery to repair his torn ACL on Feb. 13, 2013, at 11:07 a.m. That date, plus the total number of seconds Rondo tweeted, adds up to Friday at 7:30 p.m. — the exact time the Celtics are set to take on the Los Angeles Lakers at TD Garden.

If Rondo does return Friday, it would be just the right time for a struggling Celtics team that has lost nine of its last 10 games. Rondo reportedly has been targeting the Lakers game for his comeback for a while, but it will be a couple of days before knowing for sure if the Sherlock Holmes detective work pays off.
