Report: Josh McDaniels Removes Name From Browns’ Head Coach Search, Will Remain Patriots’ Offensive Coordinator

Bill Belichick Josh McDanielsJosh McDaniels isn’t going anywhere.

The New England Patriots’ offensive coordinator has withdrawn his name from the Cleveland Browns’ head coaching job search, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Schefter tweeted that McDaniels did not think it was the right time for him to leave New England for his second head coaching stint. McDaniels met with the Browns on Saturday, and the meeting was “awesome,” according to Schefter.

McDaniels went 11-17 as the Denver Broncos’ head coach from 2009 to 2010. He was hired after calling plays for the Patriots as offensive coordinator from 2006 to 2008. McDaniels hooked on with the St. Louis Rams as offensive coordinator for one season before coming back to New England in 2012.
