The New England Patriots are losing assistant coaches left and right.
Tight ends coach George Godsey is the latest to leave the Patriots’ staff. Godsey will join Bill O’Brien‘s Houston Texans staff as quarterbacks coach, according to ESPN.com.
Linebackers coach Pepper Johnson departed the Patriots on Tuesday, and offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia retired on Wednesday. Tony Grossi of ESPNCleveland.com reported that Josh McDaniels is “possibly back in the mix” for the Cleveland Browns’ head coach job. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network said that is not the case, however.
Godsey spent two years with the Patriots as the team’s tight ends coach. He was an offensive assistant with the Patriots in 2011 after spending seven years as a Central Florida assistant. Follow @DougKyedNESN
