New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan might need to see a barber and part with his luscious locks if he ever wants to land an NFL head-coaching job.
According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, NFL executives have been “truly impressed” with the way Ryan has turned around the Saints’ defense this season, but they say he’ll need to undergo a makeover if he wants to be taken seriously in the league.
“If he wants to be a head coach, he has to cut his hair,” Mortensen said several executives told him, via FoxSports.com. “It is about image for these guys. They want a CEO-type. That’s what they want.”
After being fired by the Dallas Cowboys last season, Ryan helped the Saints, who gave up the most yards in the league and allowed the second-most points last season, improve to fourth in both categories this season.
The turnaround certainly has piqued the interests of executives, but until his hair resembles twin brother Rex‘s look, Rob’s phone apparently won’t ring.
