There was plenty of drama before the New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks played a single down in Saturday’s NFC divisional playoff game.
Saints tight end Jimmy Graham exchanged words with several Seahawks players, including linebackers Bruce Irvin and Bobby Wagner, prior to Saturday’s pregame warmups. Graham ripped a knit cap off Irvin’s head and the two sides eventually were separated, although it was only a matter of time before another scuffle broke out.
Richard Sherman and other Seahawks players went right back after Graham a little while after the initial confrontation. The second incident, which occurred just before kickoff while everyone was in pads, saw Sherman and others yell in Graham’s direction as the Saints tight end made hand gestures toward his opponents.
