Apparently, something as minor as an arm sleeve was enough to draw Robert Griffin III out of his offseason hibernation.

The Washington Redskins quarterback, who was on vacation when the team announced the signing of new head coach Jay Gruden last week, took to Facebook on Friday to address complaints a few fans were voicing about his compression sleeve, which he wears on his throwing arm each game. And boy, did he address them.

Griffin launched into a 298-word response in the comments thread on one of his photos, comparing his wearing a sleeve to gameday rituals his Redskins teammates take part in and venting on the larger issue of the intense microscope the media has placed on him, especially during his underwhelming second season.

His post has garnered more than 600 likes and been met with a largely positive response from Washington fans. Check it out below, with a hat tip to The Washington Post.
