The Seattle Seahawks are trying to make sure their famed “12th Man” remains as local as possible.
Fans looking to go to next Sunday’s NFC title game at CenturyLink Field have to be in one of six states to have any shot at landing tickets. The Seahawks announced that tickets to the game will go on sale Jan. 13, and will only be available to fans who have a credit card with a billing address in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Alaska and Hawaii, according to the team release. Tickets will also be available to fans in the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta.
The restrictions are likely being imposed to keep scalpers and potential opposing fans from purchasing tickets. Seattle will take on the winner of Sunday’s Carolina Panthers-San Francisco 49ers game, and tickets are clearly not being sold to people in California or North Carolina. The lowest price for tickets to the game on the secondary market is $330.
