Tecmo Super Bowl Prediction: Broncos Beat Seahawks On OT Safety (Video)

If video game simulations have any bearing on real life, Super Bowl XLVIII is going to be one for the ages.

A Madden 25 simulation earlier this week predicted the Denver Broncos would defeat the Seattle Seahawks 31-28 on a Matt Prater field goal in overtime. Tecmo Super Bowl, still a classic more than 20 years after its first release, also predicts a Broncos win, but under even more unlikely circumstances.

In the Tecmo sim, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson rushed for a 1-yard touchdown to give Seattle a 38-35 lead with less than three minutes to play, only to see Prater nail a field goal in the final seconds to send the game to overtime. On the first play of the extra session, Broncos cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie sacked Wilson in the end zone, giving Denver a 40-38 win in the first overtime game in Super Bowl history.

Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch had himself quite a day on the ground, rushing for 155 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries, and Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning lit it up through the air, throwing for 318 yards and four scores.
