The Florida Panthers goalie, who compiled a 196-121-0-45 record with 10,533 career saves as a member of the Boston Bruins, returns to TD Garden for his first start as a visiting netminder Tuesday night.

The Tank returned earlier this season, but an injury forced him to watch the matchup from the ninth floor.

Thomas’ tenure in Boston was highlighted by a memorable 2011 playoff run that ended with a 4-0 Game 7 win on the road in Vancouver to give Boston its sixth Stanley Cup — and first since 1972. However, for all the success Thomas had on the ice, he did have several controversial moments off it, usually involving his political opinions and use of social media.

In eight seasons in Boston, Thomas had more than his fair share of memorable moments.
