Tom Brady has played in enough Super Bowls that watching the big game doesn’t have the same appeal it once did. So the New England Patriots quarterback probably won’t tune into FOX for kickoff on Feb. 2.
Brady, who has played in five Super Bowls, came up just short of a sixth trip to the big game when the Patriots fell for a second consecutive season in the AFC Championship Game, this time to the Denver Broncos. Brady reflected on the Patriots’ season on WEEI’s Dennis & Callahan and also discussed his general disinterest in watching the Super Bowl.
“I don’t have much of a rooting interest, truthfully. Those games are hard to watch,” Brady said. “I don’t see myself sitting down to enjoy a football game or watch it. Our season is over.”
Brady is the ultimate competitor, and, considering the incredible success he’s enjoyed in 13 NFL seasons as a starter, it’s no surprise that he doesn’t want to watch Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks or archrival Peyton Manning and the AFC champion Broncos hoist the Lombardi Trophy in East Rutherford, N.J.
